EYITA OJOKORO COMMUNITY INAUGURATES NEW EXECUTIVES FOR FERCA UNITED CDA IN IKORODU
Residents of FERCA CDA in Eyita Ojokoro area of Ikorodu in Lagos State have inaugurated her first set of Executives to direct the affairs of the CDA for the next two years.
The newly approved FERCA CDA was formerly under UNESCA CDA and comprises five streets namely Femi Giwa, Emmanuel Audu, Royal Avenue, Coconut crescent and Ajulor.
The new Executives is chaired by Kolawole Lawal, with Mr Emmanuel Audu as 1st Vice Chairman, Mr Abimbola Oluwo as 2nd Vice Chairman, Mrs Ilewi Nkiruka as General Secretary, Ogunsanya Akeem as Assistant General Secretary, Mr Olanrewaju Oladejo as Treasurer and Mr Gbadamosi Fatai as Financial Secretary.
Others inaugurated alongside are Mrs Jokomba Ope Oluwa JP as Welfare Secretary, Mr Pius Mosanya Esq as Legal Secretary, Mr Lawal Rasak as PRO, Mr Olalere Bamidele as Chief Whip, Mrs Badejoko Adekunbi as Social Welfare, Mr Emmanuel Oluborode as Auditor while Mr Oluremi Omotola and Mr Familua Babatunde will serve as Ex-officios.
Inaugurating the new Executives, the Head of Department of Agric, Rural and Social Development in Ikorodu North LCDA, Mr Olalekan Kuti implored the CDA Executives to act in accordance with the laws of Lagos State that established Community Development Associations in order not to face the wrath of the law.
Mr Kuti stated the functions of each of the Executives before performing the swearing-in, and also warned against poor management of funds contributed by residents for self-help projects.
“The law that establishes CDA’s in Lagos State frowned at keeping Community Development Association’s money at home or in individual’s bank accounts. Any individual or group of people who embezzle Community money will surely face the music”
“You are expected to identify, raise money and manage resources of the community very well. The execute self-help project(s) must be agreed upon by all the executive members with support of the residents.
He presented Certificate of registration, copies of the constitution of the Lagos State Community Development (Advisory) Council and Law to provide for the Registration of Community Development Associations and for other Connected Matters to the new Chairman of FERCA CDA, Mr Kolawole Lawal.
The special guest on the occasion Alhaji Rankunmi charged the newly inaugurated chairman and his executive council members to impact positively on the community by making effective use of the human and materials resources at their disposal.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated CDA Chairman, Mr Kolawole Lawal thanked residents for the confidence reposed in him, while also noting that the Executives were aware of the task ahead of them, while calling for the cooperation of all residents to enable the executive succeed with appeal for prompt payment of all levies in the community.
“It is an enormous task ahead of me and my team. I shall display the highest level of commitment and loyalty to our communal interest towards engendering development”.
“I promised that my team will aim for the development of the CDA for the benefit of all residents.
The highpoint of the inauguration was the presentation of Recognition and Ambassador Awards to deserving members of the CDA who have contributed immensely to the development of the community over the last two decades with posthumous awards also represented to late community leaders including late Otunba Ibidapo Ayodele among others.
