The Ekuti, Olumoye, Oniwonlu, and Abejoye Royal families of Akodo Kingdom in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos have staged a peaceful demonstration at the site of a dredging in the creek beside the Lekki Free Trade Zone. They sang various songs and held placards such as, “Stop Dredging Our Land,” “Be Conscious of Ocean Surge and Lagoon Flood,” Farming and Fishing, Our Major Occupation,” Think of Our Land. Think of Our Generation, Supermarine Services Ltd,” “Our Farmland, Our Pride. Stop Reducing Our Land,” among others. The families said that dredging of the creek to provide solid land within the Lekki Free Trade Zone was an abuse of the human and environmental rights and as they could no longer farm nor fish. They said the sea was just about a kilometer from the creek being dredged and the entire Akodo Kingdom stood the risk of flooding beside depriving the people of their source of living. African Church Suspends Primate Abbe Over Constitutional Violations

The African Church Management Committee has announced the suspension of its Primate, His Eminence Julius Olayinka Osayande Abbe, over what it described as multiple breaches of the Church’s constitution. The announcement was made at a press conference held in Lagos on Thursday and addressed by the Acting Lay President, Elder Pius Adebayo Sobambo. Themed "Setting the Records Straight: Upholding Truth, Constitutionality, and Unity in The African Church," the event outlined the Church's reasons for the suspension amid ongoing internal leadership crisis. Elder Sobambo stated that the suspension followed failed attempts at reconciliation and persistent disregard for constitutional provisions by Primate Abbe. “Let the record reflect that all genuine efforts toward reconciliation, dialogue, and peaceful resolution were made in good faith but were consistently rebuffed by Primate Abbe and his loyalists,” Sobambo said. Fulani Group Raises Alarm, Writes DSS Over Possible Breach of Peace in Kwara

  Three Fulani leaders in Kwara state have written to the Department of State Services (DSS) alleging plans by a group to cause breach of peace and urging the security body to act urgently. The three leaders, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed (Ga'a Federal), Abdullahi Arisekola (Ga'a Erin and Jowuro) and Muhammad Jowuro of Omu Aran claim that a group led by one Ande Mu'azu Buruku is currently hatching a leadership crisis that can unsettle the state. Writing through their lawyer, H.O. Buhari of the Buhari, Oguntoye Associates, the trio accused Buruku of refusal to identify with Alhaji Jimoh Adam Ojonla, who was recently turbaned by Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, as the new Ardo Fulani.
